 Ajax Cape Town would like to announce that it is with great regret that they have to withdraw from the 2008 Vodacom Cape Fish U17 Tournament.
John Comitis the CEO of Ajax Cape Town said, “It is sad to see when sponsorship brands are actually controlling the soccer content in this country. It’s a disappointment for me to see that 16/17 year old players will suffer the consequences of not being allowed to play in this tournament simply because their jerseys have the MTN logo on it. |

 Ajax Cape Town plays Mount Cameroon on Saturday 26 April 2008, 20h00 at the Athlone Stadium.
This is the first game of the second round of the African Cup Winners Cup competition and it will provide the Urban Warriors with an ideal opportunity to test the strength in depth of their squad. |

Ajax lands MTN sponsorship |
 Ajax Cape Town is proud to announce a new their partnership with MTN South Africa. This sponsorship deal is set to run for the next three years. MTN South Africa was the first sponsor of the Urban Warriors in 1999 and this partnership sees the renewal of the relationship between Ajax and MTN. |

 It was an absolute shock to me to be informed by my Head of Youth Development that we were not allowed to register this year to play in the tournament because our playing jersey holds our new sponsors name MTN. The reason is that Vodacom has now stepped in as a co-sponsor of the tournament.
