Kannemeyer joins Youth Academy

Ajax Cape Town would like to announce that David Kannemeyer has been appointed as a coach within the AjaxCT Youth Academy.
 
David will be assisting David Nyathi train the AjaxCT U19 team as they prepare for the Metropolitan Premier Cup.
 
Corné Groenendijk, the Head of Youth at Ikamva said, “We welcome another former Ajax player back into our structure and wish him all the best with the start of his coaching career.
 
David is an ex-AjaxCT player so he knows our system, culture and structure.”
 
Kannemeyer started his football career at Ottery Ferness FC before joining the Cape Town Spurs Youth Academy.
 
He started his professional career at Cape Town Spurs in 1995 and was a member of the inaugural Ajax Cape Town squad in 1999.
 
David transferred to Kaizer Chiefs in 2001 and played there until 2004 before making the move to Sundowns.
 
At the end of his tenure at Sundowns David transferred to Supersport and finished his professional football career at Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2012.
 
Between 2000 and 2006 David earned 15 Bafana caps and also represented the South African U23 team at the 2000 Olympics, and he was part of the South Africa squad at the 2000 and 2004 Africa Cup of Nations.
